The biggest change in version 0.10 is that you can now choose between 3 different stages, which get progressively more difficult, but yield bigger rewards. Eventually, you will need to unlock these in sequence but for now they're all unlocked from the start. They all have different backgrounds too, representing various stages of Earth's decay. (these aren't finished yet though!)

Changes:

  • 3 different stages can now be selected. Eventually, these will need to be unlocked in sequence. Each stage has:
    • harder and harder difficulty (enemies spawn in bigger groups and can move faster, and bullets can also move faster)
    • its own high score and Steam leaderboard
    • a different 3D background (these are currently work in progress / placeholder)
  • Added new placeholder enemy types (more of this coming soon).
  • Enemies' initial spawn rate has been reduced (to compensate for harder difficulties ramping up much faster).
  • Added visual effects to ghosts who are stunned to make them easier to see, and easier to follow as they're repelled.
  • Added visual effects and text when Power-ups are acquired.
  • Added volume sliders for music and sound effects.
  • Added sound effect while Dashing.
  • Added sound effects when ghosts are repelled by Shield or Dash attacks.
  • Removed impact sound from enemy bullets when they're absorbed.
  • Improved performance when Grapple Beam is active (more info).

Bug fixes:

  • Ghosts who are stunned can now be grabbed in the Grapple Beam.
  • Ghosts who are stunned will correctly stop shooting and resume when they recover.
  • Destroying ghosts while the 'next level' transition is happening now correctly awards points, instead of always being 0.
  • The Grapple Beam will now grab ghosts and absorb bullets even if there's another (grappled) ghost in between them and the player.
  • Menu button control prompts now default to displaying keyboard buttons, not controller buttons.
  • Power-up sprites are now cropped correctly.
