Ghost Grab 3000 v0.13


Version 0.13 (alpha) is here!

Pre-release builds are available exclusively to $5 Patrons.

This update brings a lot of gameplay changes and crunchy new pixel art. It was great to get back into gameplay design after spending so long building menus and doing under-the-hood code.

I hope you like the new changes!

Changes:

  • Added 4 new enemy types which appear in harder difficulties (some graphics are still placeholder).
  • Revised the enemy spawning system to provide greater variation and challenge the longer you survive.
  • Remade all 3 backgrounds (using a new 3D model system instead of simple cubes).
  • Improved visibility of ghosts when they are stunned (flashing white instead of solid black).
  • Reduced size of player collider to balance the bullet hell-scape.
  • Added BIG BULLETS for some enemy types, included the large ghosts.
  • Added VOLLEY shot capabilities for Skulls.
  • Added RADIAL shot capabilities for a new enemy type.
  • Redrew the large ghost sprites and improved the skull sprites.
  • Reduced the number of enemies you need to destroy to advance to the next wave (increases by 4 every wave instead of 5).
  • Increased the percentage the enemy spawn timer resets each wave so you get more of a breather when you advance to the next wave.

That's all for this update! In the next update I'll finish all the enemy sprites, then probably start implementing achievements and get the ball rolling with full localisation (which are the final remaining "must do" tasks to hit Beta).
