So I killed the target and passed the level, but there was another bystander who had the exact features of the target (on the right).

Hey, thanks for the feedback! The problem here was that the face on the right is actually a 'wide oval' shaped face, whereas the target is a perfect circle. So the game code considers them to be different shapes, but at a glance they look very similar. Sorry about that!
This issue has actually been rectified in the newer version (which is available only on Steam for now: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1144150/Singled_Out/). The wide oval face shape has been replaced with a different shape with more of a chin and eyebrows.
Any chance you could release the source code for learning? Cheers
Unfortunately not. I use a few plugins which I can't share as it's against the T&Cs of the license. I don't really have time to clean up a version without those plugins for release I'm afraid.
Very, very nice! :) 7,7k
Really nice game! I really liked the concept of this and the retro vibe. I got to level 19 when I played this. This has a lot of potential and would be so much fun to compare scores with friends or online. Overall a very fun game :D
I don't know if you've heard of Game Development World Championship before (gdwc2019) but it's a competition for indie game developers where they can submit their games and it's free! It's great if you want some more visibility for the game and it only takes a couple of minutes to join :)
Hey, Singled Out made it on my GMTK Game Jam 2019 Best Of video:Keep up the great work!
Fun game! I played it quite a few times and managed a highscore of 5811 by level 14. An obvious addition would be a highscore list, but I suspect you ran out of time.
Good score! Yeah... Well, I didn't even attempt it because I knew it would take a while haha. I'm hoping to take the game further after my current projects though!
It's a very fun and well executed game, I think this has quite some potential to grow into something past a jam game. Nice!
Really cool, Matt. Very nicely done. Love the sound too.
Thank you! 😀 I'm happy with the sound too. I added the chuckle when the target is revealed really late in the jam and made myself laugh too 😂
Really fun game! Your idea was somewhat similar to mine (spotting an outlier in a crowd), but our games still ended up being pretty different. I love all of the crazy designs for the faces, and the game feels super polished overall. Good job!
Thanks so much! I'll be sure to check out your game. It's always fun to see different takes on a similar idea. 😊
Nicely done. I think we have similar style in games design. I will check out your other games. As an update make a save system that makes the player input their initials for high scores.
Good job. First levels were hard for me.
